Know Your Mentor

Hi!

I am Sukhmani—your mentor-cum-friend—and my introduction goes like this . . .

Being from a family of teachers, I always wanted to be like them. So, after completing my graduation (BCom Honours) and post-graduation (MCom), I wanted to become a professor. But unfortunately, I couldn’t clear UGC-NET in commerce (Almighty has His plans!). Determined to be in the education field, I did a Bachelor’s in Education (BEd) and then a Master’s in Education (MEd) in Educational Technology from Panjab University, Chandigarh (securing third position in university!). In the same year, I also cleared UGC-NET in Education and joined Punjab College of Education, Fatehgarh Sahib, as an assistant professor in the teaching of commerce and economics.

As always eager to learn more, I further researched the concept of blended learning in the field of educational technology at the Department of Education, Panjab University, and completed my PhD in 2019. Here is the link to my thesis.

After teaching for 6 years, I work on my own now, which includes designing educational websites on MOODLE, assisting scholars in their data-analysis work, and proofreading documents (i.e., theses, dissertations, papers, questionnaires, etc.) as per the APA Style.
